Indian security forces gun down 6 armed rebels in south India

NEW DELHI, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) — Indian security forces killed six Naxals in an encounter in the southern state of Telangana on Thursday, confirmed an official source.
The encounter took place in the state’s Bhadradri Kothagudem district. Among the dead were two women armed rebels.
Two security personnel were also injured in the encounter, which broke out in the morning and continued for a couple of hours.
Late Tuesday nine Naxals, including six women, were killed in a fierce gunfight with security forces in the central state of Chhattisgarh. ■
